Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
236 PM EDT Wed Apr 1 2026

.DISCUSSION...
Surface high pressure remains offshore with generally southerly
winds which will keep low level moisture somewhat in place through
the weekend. A bit drier tomorrow with deep mixing but minimum RH
still expected to remain well above critical levels, generally
between 35 to 45 percent. Scattered afternoon showers and storms
will be possible Friday and Saturday before rain chances increase
associated with a cold front Sunday, although widespread
significant rain remains unlikely with blended guidance mean
around a quarter inch. This front will usher in a drier air mass
next week.

Fog potential tonight: Fog possible near sunrise,
especially in the CSRA.
