Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
148 PM EDT Fri Mar 14 2025

.DISCUSSION...
Low-level moisture will slowly increase over the next couple of
days with rain-free conditions persisting through Saturday evening.
This will improve daytime RHs and provide for excellent nighttime
recoveries. A strong cold front will approach the area late in the
weekend leading to gusty southwest winds Saturday afternoon through Sunday.
The strongest gusts, some up to 35 to 40 mph will be possible
Sunday, with winds shifting from southerly ahead of the front to
westerly behind the front in the afternoon. There will be numerous showers
with scattered thunderstorms along and ahead of the front,
bringing a good bit of rain. There is also potential for strong to severe
thunderstorms with this front. Dry weather returns early next
week.

Fog Potential Tonight: Patchy fog possible again late tonight.
