Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
106 AM EST Sun Jan 18 2026

.DISCUSSION...
The next storm system impacts the forecast into the daytime hours.
While precipitation will begin as rain for everyone, some snow
could mix with and perhaps completely change over towards the
end of the event as colder air wraps around the system. The
greatest risk for snowfall accumulation is currently across
the CSRA but minor accumulations cannot be ruled out anywhere
in the region on Sunday, especially on grassy surfaces. High
pressure will be in control after the weekend storm with
several days of low Min RH values each afternoon early next week.

Fog potential tonight: Low
