.DISCUSSION...
No hazardous fire weather concerns are expected at this time.
Relative humidity values and winds will remain outside of
critical thresholds.
A line of showers and thunderstorms is expected to push across
most of the fire zones during the overnight hours bringing
anywhere from half an inch to an inch of rain across the
districts. The thunderstorm threat will be highest across the
Oconee district, with most of our northern districts only seeing
rain.
Minimum RH will fall into the 30s by this afternoon though once
the front clears the area. Gusty NW winds at 10 t0 15 mph could
gust as high as 30 mph especially along ridgetops and peaks.
Northerly transport winds will be as high as 35 mph after noon.
Winds are expected to ease during the overnight hours of Thursday
and into Friday. Expect overnight lows near freezing tonight for
the Blue Ridge and The Chattooga River Districts, and any burns
planned for Friday will likely have a cold start.
