No hazardous fire weather concerns are expected at this time.
Relative humidity values remain outside of critical thresholds.
Relatively drier conditions are expected across north and central
Georgia today, with only a chance for isolated showers across
portions of south-central Georgia this afternoon. High
temperatures today are forecast to be mostly in the low 90s in
areas north of I- 85 (with mid to upper 80s in the far
northeastern mountains) and mid to upper 90s to the south.
Portions of central Georgia remain under a Heat Advisory until
8 PM EDT this evening. Here, heat index values will rise to
between 105-110 degrees this afternoon. Minimum RH values will
range from 40-50 percent this afternoon. Winds will shift to NW
and increase to 8-12 mph with gusts up to 20 mph this afternoon.
Mixing heights will range from 4-6 kft in north Georgia and
5-7 kft in central Georgia.
Dry air will linger across the forecast area on Wednesday amid
continued hot temperatures in the mid to upper 90s. Minimum RH
values on Wednesday will range from 30-40 percent across the area
while winds remain NW at 5-10 mph. Mixing heights will peak
between 5-6 kft across far north Georgia and 6-8 kft elsewhere
across the area on Wednesday afternoon.
