.DISCUSSION...
Dry and cool conditions will persist across north and central
Georgia today and tomorrow. Minimum RH values this afternoon will
largely range from 25-35 percent, though some locations in the
northern districts will see values briefly drop below 25 percent.
Lingering moisture from yesterday's rainfall should inhibit fire
danger concerns today. the area Winds through the remainder of
the afternoon will be N to NE at 5-10 mph. Broken to overcast
mid-level clouds will overspread the area through tonight,
scattering out from northwest to southeast on Tuesday morning.
On Tuesday, minimum RH values will range from 22-28 percent, with
the lowest values forecast to be south of I-20. With drying fuels
and ongoing drought conditions, a Fire Danger Statement may be
needed where RH drops below 25 percent for several hours. Winds
on Tuesday will be NE and increase to 8-12 mph in the afternoon.
Portions of far northwest Georgia and south-central Georgia will
furthermore see gusts up to 20 mph. Mixing heights on Tuesday
will peak between roughly 5000-7000 ft.
