No hazardous fire weather concerns are expected at this time.
Relative humidity values and winds will remain outside of
critical thresholds.
Winds are expected to be mainly out of the South to Southwest
Today as the next frontal system begins to push precip into the
area. Already seeing showers across NW GA and they should slowly
increase across North GA including the ATL area through tonight.
The main front finally sweeps through the area Saturday with
winds turning to the West then Northwest by Sat evening. Wind
speeds will stay in the 6-12mph range but will increase into the
10-15mph range Sat as the frontal boundary is moving through.
Will see gusty NW winds behind the front Sunday. Precip amounts
with this system will be fairly substantial across north GA with
some locations seeing 2-3" totals by Sat night. Some isolated
locations may see some higher amounts. Areas along and south of a
Haralson to Alpharetta to Gainesville line will see precip totals
of 1.5" or less. A drier airmass begins to filter into the state
Sunday but RH values are still expected to stay above critical
levels. Right now Mon and Tue appear to be our driest days so
will need to monitor for possible fire danger statements going
into next week.
