Fire Weather Planning Forecast for North Florida...Southwest
Georgia...and Southeast Alabama
National Weather Service Tallahassee FL
221 PM EST Mon Feb 23 2026

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FOR THE TRI-STATE REGION THIS
AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING DUE TO CRITICALLY LOW HUMIDITY AND
GUSTY WINDS UNTIL 7 PM EST /6 PM CST/...

...WIDESPREAD FROST EXPECTED TUESDAY MORNING...

...LOW DISPERSION ON TUESDAY MAY PERSIST THROUGH THE AFTERNOON
SOUTH OF I-10...

.DISCUSSION...

A very dry air mass remains in place through Tuesday with
afternoon minimum RH generally ranging from 17 to 25% except
higher near the Gulf Coast on Tuesday. This combined with 20ft
northwest winds of 15 mph today will lead to critical fire
weather conditions across the region where a Red Flag Warning is
now in effect this afternoon and evening. Expect high dispersion
today across the region, followed by low dispersion on Tuesday,
which may persist through afternoon south of I-10. Looking ahead,
Wednesday is a transition day, with a big warmup in temperatures
and moisture increasing, followed by the next chance of wetting
rains on Thursday.

Fog Concerns and Other Remarks...Widespread frost is expected
Tuesday morning with patchy to widespread frost on Wednesday
morning. Looking ahead, fog may return on Thursday morning.
