Tranquil weather today will give way to dry and breezy northwest winds Saturday along the central mountain chain and nearby high plains. A backdoor cold front will surge southwest into eastern NM late Saturday with much cooler temperatures and higher humidity for Sunday. Breezy westerly winds will return Monday and Tuesday with lower humidity and warmer temperatures. Even stronger winds are possible Wednesday with minimum humidity values falling to between 10 and 15% over eastern NM. Widespread poor ventilation rates will continue through early next week with a few pockets of fair rates over parts of eastern NM. ................................................................
