FNUS53 KJKL 301914 FWFJKL Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Kentucky National Weather Service Jackson KY Issued by National Weather Service Wilmington OH 314 PM EDT Wed Oct 30 2024 .DISCUSSION...Benign weather with warm temperatures and mild overnight periods is expected into Thursday. A cold front then moves into east Kentucky by Thursday evening bringing an 80 to 95 percent chance of wetting rain, lowest along the Virginia border, before departing Friday. Southerly winds will continue to gradually increase in the lead up to the cold frontal passage with afternoon gusts of 15 to 20 mph possible at times through sunset this evening, and between 20 to 30 mph Thursday just ahead of the front. Minimum afternoon relative humidities are expected to remain above critical levels despite afternoon temperatures reaching the upper 70s to near 80 degrees each day. An increase in moisture ahead of the front will help keep those minimum afternoon humidities in the 40 to 50 percent range.
