Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Northern IL and Northwest IN
National Weather Service Chicago/Romeoville IL
420 PM CDT Sat Apr 26 2025

.DISCUSSION...

The combination of light winds and clear skies tonight will lead
to low temperatures in the 30s and patchy frost outside of Chicago
and away from the lakeshore. Skies will remain mostly clear
through the day tomorrow with SSE winds gusting to 15 to 20 mph
during the afternoon. Tomorrow will also be noticeably warmer
with afternoon temperatures in the mid 60s to near 70 degrees,
cooler near the IL lakeshore.

Monday will be mostly quiet during the daytime aside from
southerly winds gusting to 30 to 35 mph. Highs are forecast in the
upper 70s and lower 80s. A passing cold front will push a line of
showers and thunderstorms across the area Monday evening and
overnight. These storms will have the potential to become severe.
Additional thunderstorms could impact the area on Tuesday,
mainly southeast of I-55.

A few additional waves of showers and occasional thunderstorms
will move through the area Wednesday through Friday, with the
highest rain chances in that stretch slated for Thursday.
Seasonable temperatures are expected during the latter half of
the week.
